The Sportsta filter inside the Sportsta mask has an extremely low inhalation resistance compared with other particle filters. It has a hypo-allergenic layer preventing any irritation to the face as a result of the accumulation of particulate material and has a wicking effect to ensure that the surface remains dry.

The Techno Gold filter inside the Techno mask combines the sub-micron performance of the Sports filter with the dynamic adsorption capacity of the City filter. The increase in filtration using the Techno Gold filter ensures that the best of both filters can be gained, giving cumulative filtration capacity for the user in the urban environment.

In order to be able to breath properly in a mask when undergoing physical exertion, it is essential that the mask does not create either a pressure drop or back pressure when exhaling within the mask. Heat, carbon dioxide and water vapor, three components of exhaled breath, need to be exhausted from the mask in readiness for the next breath of inhaled air. If this process of evacuation fails or is impeded, then the mask may become uncomfortable with poor airflow and may result in the wearer not using the mask. The valves in Respro masks are designed to reduce or eradicate any of the above effects.
